So here it is. The Friend Zone. This happens to everyone at some point. You fall in love with your best friend. Why does this have to happen? Well, lets say you have a best guy friend. You're really, really close. You feel like you can tell him anything. He's always there for you. He makes you laugh, he'll hold you when you cry. Well, the thing is that you notice he's really cute. And he's the person you can call at 3 am because you're bored and you wanted to talk to someone. So you fall for him... Because you notice how great of a guy he is. Because you gave him time, so he opened up and was real with you. It just works that way. And maybe he likes you too, right? Its possible. But he doesn't want to ruin your relationship as FRIENDS. Or maybe you're a guy, I wouldn't know. Either way, getting stuck in the friend zone sucks. How do you get out of the friend zone?
See, the thing is, that EVENTUALLY, it happens to everyone. And I mean everyone. The first thing you have to ask yourself is "WILL this wreck my friendship with so-and-so?" Maybe. Next, "Is it worth it?" Again, MAYBE. Sometimes relationships with your best friends work out, and you could have an AMAZING relationship. But sometimes they don't. But thats the same with EVERY relationship you'll enter. If its going to ruin your relationship, then my best advice is to just, NOT. If you think it won't last, again, just don't.
Now, maybe it won't ruin your relationship. People can stay friends after they break up, it happens. So, if it won't, read on.
The best thing to do with this kind of thing is just say to your friend that you don't think it would ruin your friendship, because you're good enough of friends that it wouldn't make a difference, because your friendship could stand it. Agree that if you break up, you should stay friends. No matter what happens.
Now, ladies. -sigh- Ladies. If one of your guy friends asks you out, and you're scared to ruin your friendship, my advice is to not worry. If you guys have a bad breakup, or he cheats on you or something like that, truth is, that's who this guy is. You didn't do that to him. If he did something to you, he was like that before you dated, and yes, he's still like that.
Guys. See, now. Girls. They're complicated. And maybe this girl you see as a friend, you start to like. You don't know how wonderful this is. See, around most guys, girls are different. Even I AM, and I'm a pretty dang confident girl. They have perfect hair, their makeup is done right, they have a filter. But around you, this girl isn't like that. She's complex, and she's anything but guarded. And you like her ANYWAY. Explain to her that you love her in sweatpants, crying, at two in the morning, and she doesn't have to be perfect around you, because she already is.
That's pretty much all I have to say.
